In February, a diverse assembly of academics, independent scholars, and non-profit recovery and identification groups descended on the University of Wisconsin-Madison Biotechnology Center to discuss technologies that contribute to the recovery of missing persons and MIA service members. Even the storm couldn’t stop our attendees and panelists from participating in the inaugural Recovery Innovation Technology Summit. Although some were forced to transition to virtual participation due to travel restrictions, the inaugural summit was a success, and the UW MIA Project is already planning next year’s event.
