Free Data Storage Program – ResearchDrive Makes Storing and Transferring Data Easier

Securely transferring large amounts of data can be time consuming and frustrating. We want to highlight the free campus resource for storing research data. DOIT hosts free storage (up to 5 TB) for UW-Madison researcher groups through its ResearchDrive program. ResearchDrive offers a way for you to control who has access to your data. UWBC core facilities will push data nightly to accounts that enable the connection to the biotechnology center. This means that you don’t need to download your data. You can simply mount your ResearchDrive data shares to your Windows, Mac, or Linux computer and access your files from the secure storage at DOIT. Don’t risk keeping data on you local computer or external hard drive when you have secure fault tolerant storage available at no cost to you. Every file transferred to ResearchDrive from UWBC is checked for file integrity. Let us worry about the data transfer while you plan your next experiments.
