On Tuesday, December 14, MIA Project Founder Charles Konsitzke Provided Testimony for Wisconsin Senate Bill 602

On Tuesday, December 14, MIA Project founder Charles Konsitzke provided testimony for Wisconsin Senate Bill 602.  Under this bill, the University of Wisconsin Missing-in-Action Recovery and Identification Project (MIA Recovery Project), which is housed in the Biotechnology Center at UW-Madison, may request the WI Joint Committee on Finance to provide $180,000 in each fiscal year of the 2021-23 fiscal biennium for missions to recover and identify Wisconsin veterans who are missing in action.  If passed in February 2022, the state appropriation would provide funding for our student volunteers to conduct historical research and support field missions to make additional recoveries in Europe and the Pacific.
