Check out GEAM’s recent paper characterizing four swine models of Neurofibromatosis 1, an autosomal dominant genetic disorder affecting approximately 1 in 3000 children. GEAM specializes in cross-campus collaborations like this one between the UW Biotechnology Center, the Carbone Cancer Center, the UW-Madison Department of Dairy & Animal Sciences, and the UW Swine Research & Teaching Center endeavor is to generate biomedical genome-edited pig models of human disease.
