D. C. Smith Greenhouses Horticulture (CALS) Horticulture A lovely greenhouse area right across the street from the Dairy Plant and the insect collection.
Zoology Museum Zoology (L&S) LE Noland Zoology Building A 10,000 square-foot collections storage and research facility, the Molecular Systematics Laboratory, and a small exhibits gallery.
Insect Research Collection Entomology (CALS) Russell Labs The IRC is housed in the Department of Entomology, rooms 346, 346a-c Russell Laboratories; it consists of one main collection room and three adjoining rooms.
Milking Parlor Dairy Science Dept. (CALS) Dairy Complex, Ag Campus Cows are milked at 3:00 AM and 3:00 PM so they can be seen during the day. Not thought of as a tourist destination, but as a teaching facility.

Washburn Observatory Astronomy (L&S) Washburn Observatory 1401 Observatory Dr. Used primarily by the public during open houses,the Observatory houses a 15-inch refractor with a magnification of about 500.

Synchrotron Radiation Center Graduate School 3731 Schneider Drive, McFarland The center is a tool for researchers from across the world who perform precise experiments, such as examining rocks as old as the Earth to studying how diseases work. Visitors will have a chance to participate in family-friendly interactive activities.
Silver Buckle Press UW Library System 236 Memorial Library, 728 State Street The press is "a working tool to support instruction," and a " museum-quality collection ...to demonstrate the craft of hand-press printing through publications geared to a contemorary audience. Wood type, type collections and working versions of 19th and early 20th century presses.
